Sail into the heart of Patagonia and marvel at a millennia-old glacier
On the far western edge of the Aysén Region, nestled among fjords, cold rainforests, and remote mountains, lies one of Chile’s most awe-inspiring destinations: San Rafael Lagoon. Here, you’ll find the famous San Rafael Glacier—a tongue of ice over 30,000 years old that flows from the Northern Patagonian Ice Field, cascading majestically into emerald-green waters.
Visiting the lagoon is a truly unique experience, accessible only by sea or air, making the journey a genuine expedition into the purest and most untamed nature of Patagonia.

Where Is Laguna San Rafael?
It is located within Laguna San Rafael National Park, in the province of Aysén. The
glacier descends from the ice fields into the lagoon of the same name, creating a
landscape of floating icebergs, calm waters, and the constant crack and rumble of
ancient ice breaking apart.
